Calgary roads are rough on paint. Gravel on Deerfoot, road salts from October through April, and UV exposure in the summer all leave their mark. By the time you notice the swirls and haze, the damage is already sitting in your clear coat.
Paint correction removes that damage at the source. A machine polisher with the right compound cuts through the defects and leaves a flat, reflective surface behind. The result is paint that holds more gloss, shows less contamination, and holds up better under a ceramic coating or wax.
If you plan to sell, trade in, or ceramic coat your vehicle, paint correction is the step that makes everything else worth doing. A ceramic coating over damaged paint just locks the swirls in. Correction first means your paint is protected and looks the part for years, not weeks.

The vehicle gets a full two-bucket wash followed by iron fallout remover and clay bar treatment. Every spec of embedded contamination is pulled from the paint before any machine touches it. Polishing over contamination causes new scratches, so this step is not skipped.
60 to 90 minutesThe vehicle moves under high-intensity inspection lights. Every panel is checked for swirl marks, buffer trails, water etching, oxidation, and scratch depth. This tells us which tier of correction is needed and which panels need extra attention before we pick up a machine.
20 to 30 minutesStarting with the most affected panels, a dual-action or rotary polisher is worked across the paint with the appropriate compound and pad combination. Each pass is checked under lighting before moving on. For two-stage and multi-stage corrections, this step repeats with progressively finer products until the surface reads clean.
2 to 6 hours depending on tier and vehicle sizeOnce polishing is complete, every panel gets wiped down with an isopropyl alcohol solution. This removes all polish residue and oils so the true paint finish is visible. The vehicle is inspected again under lighting to confirm all targeted defects have been corrected to the agreed standard.
30 to 45 minutesWith the paint corrected and clean, a finishing sealant, ceramic spray, or full ceramic coating is applied depending on what was agreed. This locks in the gloss and gives the paint a sacrificial layer to protect the work done. You drive away with corrected paint that is sealed and ready to hold up.
30 to 60 minutesThe longer swirl marks and oxidation sit in your clear coat, the more stages of correction it takes to fix them. Get a free quote now and find out exactly what your paint needs.
